UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest: Congratulations to all of our concert ensembles for their success at the UIL Concert and Sight Reading Contest this week! The Concert Band was awarded with both excellent and superior ratings and the Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble were awarded superior ratings. We are so proud of the students and all their hard work!

Birdville Percussion: Congratulations to the percussion ensembles who competed at the TCU Percussion Festival on Saturday, April 9th! Both ensembles played brilliantly and competed exceptionally against some stiff competition.

Congrats to the Palace ensemble: Lydia Keil, Sofie Aspaas, Matty Cantrell, Reina Corona, Jacob Cohen, Ella Atkins, Ella Kinney, Sara Martin, Edward Butler and Brendan Green, which placed 6th in the Advanced Large Ensemble Division. Their division was the hardest and most competitive at the festival, and our kids made their mark. One judge scored them a 91, and said it was one of the best groups of the day.

Congrats to the Shared Space contest group: Lydia Keil, Benjamin McAllister, Luke DeArmond, Sophia Manning, Carter Doughty, Edward Butler and Braden Cline. The Intermediate Small Ensemble WON their division! The judges were blown away by the musicianship and maturity of this group when compared to the rest of the division. We are very proud of these two groups and plan on returning to the contest (with more groups) next year.

Jazz Dinner Auction: Thank you to everyone who participated in the Jazz Dinner Auction last Friday. We were able to raise roughly $14,600 in funds that will directly benefit our students and the Mighty Hawk Band as a whole!
