Dear Mighty Hawk Band!

CONGRATULATIONS on a wonderful performance under intense circumstances this weekend at BOA Midland! I am SO proud of you for the emotional, physical, and mental strength you displayed this weekend. YOU are awesome! I want to look at the next 2 weeks with you and give you a glimpse at the action ahead. We are in the thick of the busiest time of the school year. There are a couple of events in which the timing may be adjusted, or I am still awaiting confirmed details. As I learn the details, I will share them with you as well. Please anticipate receiving several updates and reminders throughout October to keep us all in the loop. As the activity ramps up, please make sure you are taking the time to stay organized, to be timely with your academics, and to take the time to relax with friends and family - even if it's just for a moment!

Of special note in the schedule below is the inclusion of a Monday Evening Rehearsal on October 11th from 6PM to 8PM. We do not have school this day, but we have UIL Region Marching Contest the next day. We need all performers for "The Ruins" in attendance! For this Friday, October 8th (also no school), we will have our annual FAAC Fall Break Rehearsal from 8AM to 10:15AM, and will perform "The Ruins" BEFORE the football game, rather than during halftime. Homecoming festivities will make it impossible to perform the show for the halftime crowd.

  • A couple quick housekeeping items before the schedule...

  • Uniforms! Please wash them and return them immediately!

  • BandFest tickets are still on sale! Please support the BISD private lesson scholarship by purchasing an entry ticket for yourself and others to attend, then purchase the raffle tickets for a chance to win free private lessons for a year!
