Monday Band E-News (May 18-22)

Happy Monday Mighty Hawk Band!

As we bring the 2019-2020 school year to a close under such strange circumstances, I wanted to take just a moment to reflect back and thank the Mighty Hawk Band Senior Class of 2020. Your class has been such a special chapter in the history of the Mighty Hawk Band story, and I knew it would be since you guys were in 8th grade. You are absolutely some of the most talented musicians, but more importantly, some of the nicest, most kind hearted, giving, and fun human beings I’ve ever had the pleasure to be associated with. Thank you guys for pushing the program to new heights, setting a higher standard, and for teaching others that hard work really does payoff in the end. You are leaving behind a legacy that will stand the test of time and will be told in the “History of the Mighty Hawk Band” for decades to come. Thank you guys for being you, and you truly have made this year the Best Birdville Ever - BBE!!!

Senior School Owned Instrument Return / Senior Concert Dress Return / Marching Instrument Pick Up

The Band Staff will be at Birdville High School this Thursday (May 21st) from 4-7pm to collect all school owned instruments and concert dress, along with any outstanding band fees from our seniors or any underclassman that are not planning to return back to the band program in the fall. We will then escort each one of you one by one into the band hall to clean out your locker and grab anything that you may have left inside the band hall. Please be sure to bring a face covering for the safety of everyone. If you are an underclassmen, you may keep your instrument and your concert dress until we return back to BHS full time this summer. Please meet us on the sidewalk in front of the percussion hall. If there is a line, please be sure to keep at least 6 feet between families and a band staff member will help you one at a time. This will also be the time where anyone can pick up any items that you may have left inside of the band hall. All incoming freshman that play a school owned instrument may pick up their marching instruments at this time as well. Please wait in line until it’s your turn. When it’s your turn, be sure to introduce yourself to the band staff, and tell us what instrument you play. From there we will walk you through the checkout process. We’re excited to meet you!
