Sunday E-News (Oct 29-Nov 2)

Happy Sunday Mighty Hawk Band!

Congratulations to everyone on a super successful week of performances last week to wrap up the end of the competitive Marching Band Season. We had a wonderful performance at the UIL Region Marching Contest last Monday evening receiving straight first division ratings from all three judges for the 19th year in a row (that’s every year since the school opened in 1999).

We wrapped up the week with the best performance of the season at the US Bands Southwestern Regional at Saginaw High School Placing First Place in our class in Prelims winning all captions and advancing on to the Finals Competition. The Finals performance was the best performance to date winning best music, best visual, best general effect, and best percussion in the entire contest, as well as being named the Grand Champions placing first overall beating our closest competitor by three points!!! It was the perfect end to the best competitive season the Mighty Hawk Band has had in the last decade…if not ever.

I’d like to thank everyone who made this season possible. From the incredible parents who helped design and build the props, to the chaperones and logistics team for helping to move the students and equipment, to the staff and incredible design team for putting together such a great product for the students, and last but certainly not least, the incredible marching members of the Mighty Hawk Band. It really does take a village and it was so nice to see everyone come together to work on a project and end up doing something so special together. This season is one that I will never forget.
